Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Ephesians 1:16-19
I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
Ephesians 1:16-19 (Paraphrase) - “I pray that the Father of glory breathe His supreme intelligence and wisdom into you resulting in REVELATION according to His full discernment, that you may be able to see, understand and grasp three divine things in the realm of the spirit… His calling on your life, your inheritance in Christ and the exceeding greatness of His power toward you as a believer.”
THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED BY THE FATHER TO OPEN THE EYES OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND GIVE YOU A REVELATION OF HIS EXCEEDINGLY GREAT POWER AVAILABLE TO YOU AS A BELIEVER, IN JESUS NAME!
THE GREEK WORD TRANSLATED AS ‘POWER’ IS ‘DÜNÄMES’ LITERALLY, ‘MIRACLE POWER, OR INHERITED MIRACLE WORKING POWER’
In Luke 24:49 (AMP) Jesus said, “Listen carefully: I am sending the Promise of My Father [the Holy Spirit] upon you; but you are to remain in the city [of Jerusalem] until you are clothed (fully equipped) with power from on high.”
Jesus never intended for His church to be powerless! Just as He commanded His disciples, He is commanding us… “do not leave home until you are clothed and fully equipped with miracle working power from on high!”
In Acts 1:8, Jesus continues… “You shall receive (miracle working) power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:2-3 - When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
JESUS PROMISED ‘POWER’ AND THEN HE GAVE HIS DISCIPLES ‘TONGUES’…
Why tongues? Why would we need a heavenly language that no one on earth understands? Why did Jesus promise POWER and then give His disciples tongues?
In 1 Corinthians 14:4 Paul the apostle says, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies (builds up, expands, enlarges and empowers) himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”
When you speak in tongues in your heavenly language, you build yourself up, you enlarge yourself and you empower yourself… the reason is that when you are praying in tongues, your spirit is praying ‘the Word’ on the highest, most holy level of faith, as led by the Holy Spirit! Death and life is in the POWER of the tongue, so when you speak the Word on the highest level of faith, POWER is released from Heaven and IMPARTED to you… the WORD is full of POWER and faith makes a withdrawal of that power as you SPEAK.
Tongues is not a ‘religious, Pentecostal phenomena’ it is God’s way of imparting His POWER into you, so that He can do His works through you supernaturally.
WHEN YOU SPEAK IN TONGUES, YOUR SPIRIT MAN SPEAKS THE WORD ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF FAITH AS LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND MIRACLE WORKING POWER BEGINS TO WORK IN AND THEN THROUGH YOU!
Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “Now to Him (Jesus) who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the (miracle working) power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
The Amplified Bible says, “Now to Him (Jesus) who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
JESUS DOES NOT INTEND TO CARRY OUT HIS PURPOSE BY HUMAN ABILITY
HE INTENDS TO CARRY OUT HIS PURPOSE WITH HIS MIRACLE WORKING POWER WORKING IN US AND THROUGH US
HIS POWER WILL ALWAYS MANIFEST IN YOU BEFORE HE DOES IT THROUGH YOU
HAVE FAITH FOR MIRACLES WITHIN!
GET SET FREE WITHIN, PROSPER WITHIN, BE WHOLE WITHIN BY HIS POWER, THEN LET IT FLOW OUT OF YOU!
Ephesians 6:10 (TPT) says, “Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of His explosive power flowing in and through you.”
Ephesians 1:19 (TPT) says, “I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you!”
CONFESSION
“Father, I receive revelation concerning the power of God operating in and through me now, in Jesus Name!
Father, open the eyes of my understanding that I may know what is the exceeding greatness of the power of Jesus toward me as a believer!
Jesus, baptize me afresh in the Holy Ghost and fire!
Pour Your miracle working power into me!
I receive miracle working power right now, in Jesus Name!
Jesus, carry out Your purpose and do superabundantly more than all that I dare ask or think, infinitely beyond my greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to Your power that is at work within me, I receive now, in Your precious Name!”
