Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Proverbs 17:22 (TPT)

A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.

The ‘Christ-Mass’ season is overflowing with the anointing of JOY. Joy to the world, the LORD has come! The anointing of JOY on Christmas does not flow out of family gatherings, festive lights, jingle bells, or Santa and his reindeers… those are all fun things that make people happy, but anointed JOY does not emanate FROM these things… JOY flows, because JESUS came to earth to seek and to save that which was lost!

The reason that some believers are sad during the Christmas season is because they are focussing on the wrong things… they may not have family with them to celebrate with, they may not have jingle bells, they may not have a Christmas tree, they may be sick, or maybe they have lost a loved one, and Christmas reminds them, of how much they miss their loved one. These things are very real, but don’t let any of these things distract you from the real reason we as believers are flooded with JOY during Christmas… the real reason is that the Father so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish, but have eternal life! Focus on that!

Take time this season to meditate on the gift from your loving Father! take some time to think about Jesus leaving Heaven, and humbling Himself to be born as a baby; to become human, so that as a human being, He could accept the punishment for our sins, and pay the price for our freedom… then make us to be righteous kings and priests in Him.

As you meditate upon this, the river of JOY will flood your soul, regardless of circumstances!

Pray about reaching out and spreading the JOY this season… reach out to people who are alone… make Christmas cookies, or gingerbread men, or, maybe a pie… or, if you are not a baker, spend some money and buy something Christmassy… then go bless those that the Lord would lead you to… go visit people and pray for them, or, do something to bless them.

Some of you may even feel led to take a drive on Christmas Day, and take gifts, or meals to the homeless, or to those in need… be Spirit led, and do your part to spread the JOY anointing this season!

Walk in the JOY anointing this season, be jolly! Get some people saved, get some people healed, use the season to talk about Jesus… get excited, get happy, be flooded with JOY, and be a blessing, in Jesus Name!

In His amazing love, Nick
