Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres…
This week, as I was reading 1 Corinthians 13, what stood out to me in verse 5, was where the NIV translation uses the wording “it does not dishonor others”. Let’s put a guard over our mouths, so we don’t dishonor people in our community/circle of friends and family… in fact, let’s do the opposite of dishonoring… let’s HONOR one another! Let’s honor one another by imparting the special anointing of agape’ love this season!
I am reminded Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21-23 (AMP) “That they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me. I have given to them the glory and HONOR which You have given Me, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected and completed into one, so that the world may know [without any doubt] that You sent Me, and [that You] have loved them, just as You have loved Me.”
Jesus HONORED us when He gave us the ‘Father’s agape’ love’. When He imparted the ‘love anointing’, the anointed agape’ love supernaturally made us one with Him, with the Father, and with other believers of like precious faith! When we honor others by imparting that same agape’ LOVE, it breaks down the walls of separation, and supernaturally unites us in the miracle anointing of love! This unity with the Father, with Jesus, and with each other PERFECTS us, COMPLETES us, ENABLES us, and ANOINTS us to walk in a greater dimension of miracles, power and supernatural ability!
When we love on others, we are giving them honor, just like Jesus showed honor to those around Him. Jesus spread the honor that the Father had given Him, to bring unity…. all so that the world would know that God sent Jesus and that God loves the world as much as He loves Jesus.
During this Christmas season, we get to walk in God’s love to all our friends and family by showering them with our prayers, gifts, hugs, special meals, baked cookies and whatever you are planning to do during this season, it’s all about showering love on those around you.
Let this anointed agape’ love overflow, not only to your loved ones but to everyone you come in contact with, so that they would know that Jesus loves them as much as He loves you – selah.
In His amazing love, Esther
