Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 1 John 4:18-19
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.
I love how this scripture says, “perfect love ‘casts out’ fear!” Perfect love takes fear, picks it up, and violently throws it into outer darkness!
The word ‘torment’ describes being tormented with thoughts of bad things coming upon you because of personal failure, or sin. Torment is defined us unbearable mental or physical pain mixed with dread and overwhelming stress.
When I look at people today, so many are totally tormented by everything that is going on… they are insecure, afraid, and tormented. Sadly, so many Christians live in continual torment as well. One of the ways that people deal with unbearable torment is to disconnect and to switch off… another way is to ‘self-medicate’ with drugs, including narcotics, marijuana and alcohol.
God’s solution to destroy fear and torment and to impart joy, peace and rest is PERFECT LOVE. His perfect ‘agape’ love is an anointing that emanates from the Father’s heart! The LOVE anointing is probably the strongest, most powerful anointing that the Father possesses!
Today, RECEIVE this POWERFUL anointing from the heart of the Father. The Father is ready to CAST OUT the spirits of fear and torment, and usher in JOY, peace, and rest!
