Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Matthew 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Jesus wants us to be ‘salt’ and ‘light’ in a dark, toxic world…
Salt gives flavor and it also disinfects, heals and preserves… light shows the way, exposes dangers and shines light on safe pathways. Jesus does not want us to withdraw from this dark, flavorless, sick, infected, toxic world and go isolate ourselves in caves… He wants us to insert ourselves as salt and light!
Many are withdrawing from social media right now, stating that they do not want to be a part of, or support these corrupt, discriminating, agenda driven, liberal social media companies. I have news for you… the whole world is corrupt, discriminating, agenda driven, liberal and agenda driven. We are meant to be in the world, but not of it… Jesus hung out with sinners, drunkards, prostitutes and demon possessed people… He never condemned them, but became their friend and became healing, restoring, disinfecting salt to them… He became light and life to them, exposing the darkness and the traps that held them bound.
I am staying on every social media platform that will have me… I am not supporting, or approving of their agendas, I am inserting myself as salt and light. Millions of unsaved, hurting, broken people are on social media… they are all dwelling in darkness and are being devoured by the devil… I am there to minister, to give hope, to pour out love and grace and to preach the gospel!
If you have been considering withdrawing, please do not! Please continue to insert yourself into the darkness as salt and light! If you have already withdrawn, please consider joining as many social media platforms as you can, then let your light shine and let your saltiness be absorbed!
As believers, we need to continually be looking for areas to insert ourselves into… we should not be withdrawing! The world needs us right now, they need to be exposed to our Jesus culture, our thoughts, our humor, our values, our love and our anointing.
To be clear, I do not have the right to ‘tell’ anybody what to do, but I do have a mandate from the Lord to speak the truth in love, so please prayerfully consider what Jesus said to His church in Matthew 5:13-16. Let’s invade the darkness as salt and light, in Jesus Name… selah!
