Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:1-4
Acts 1:8 - “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:1-4 – “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all together with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
The 'dünämēs' power of the Holy Spirit manifests in the strongest way possible when a dynamic connection between God, the believer and others of like precious faith connect in unity and in faith. Connect with God and with others of like precious faith and witness a new level of miracle working power manifest in your life...
AT PENTECOST THE POWER CONNECTION OCCURRED WHEN THE PEOPLE WERE CONNECTED TO GOD AND EACH OTHER!
Just like an appliance must be connected to a power cord, and the power cord must be connected to the source of power before the power manifests and the appliance functions… you (as with the power cord) must be connected to God (the source of power) as well as to another person, or other people (the appliance) for the power of God to manifest on the highest level.
MOST IN THE CHURCH WORLD CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO GROUPS…
‘THE GOD CONNECTORS’ AND ‘THE PEOPLE CONNECTORS’
The ‘God connectors’ are those who love the power of God, the manifest presence of God, the move of the Spirit and the manifestation of signs, wonders and miracles – the ‘people connectors’ are the church groups that focus on fellowship, social events, programs and relational ministry. Usually you have one or the other, but not both, yet it is when you have both… and emphasize connecting with God as well as on connecting with people that the power of God pours out and manifests in the greatest way possible.
WHEN YOU CONNECT WITH GOD AND WITH OTHERS OF LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH… EXPLOSION OCCURS!
THE KEY TO POWER IS CONNECTION!
CONNECTING TO GOD AND CONNECTING TO OTHERS
TO FULLY GET THIS REVELATION WE NEED TO ANSWER TWO QUESTIONS…
WHAT DO I NEED? WHAT DO OTHERS NEED FROM ME?
A ‘my need focus’ is primarily generated by our flesh while a ‘what others need focus’ is more of a New Covenant focus. Of course God is interested in meeting your needs, however your ‘primary focus’ should be on the needs of others, not your own.
The ‘God connection’ crowd are usually very ‘my need’ focused… many of them are out of fellowship, or hop around from one meeting to another, depending on who the guest speaker is. They only show up for what they can get. These people are very ‘spiritual’. But usually do very little for the kingdom of God. These ‘God connectors’ need a revelation that others need them… others need their impartation, others need their fellowship, others need their committed engagement to the local church, to home meetings as well as to regular social gatherings. Most ‘God only connectors’ are not committed to others, to local churches or to social gatherings because they do not realize, or have the revelation that others need them to show up, to be committed and to engage relationally. Do not only come to a meeting, a social gathering or an event for what you can get, go because others need something from you! Go to receive, but primarily, go to give!
On the other hand, ‘people only connectors’ tend to be so focused on others that they neglect to make the needed connection to the Lord and use their faith to receive gifts, power, anointing and personal encounters with the Lord.
When we come to Jesus and drink His living waters for ourselves, and then allow rivers to gush forth out of us to others, the power of God will be released on the highest level and revival will occur.
Jesus said in John 15:12-13 (TPT) - “So, this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you. For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends.”
We need to ‘receive’ Jesus’ love and then we need to make the sacrifice to share His love and power through us to others…
TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS BEING FOCUSED ON WHAT OTHERS NEED FROM ME!
THE KEY TO MORE POWER IS ADDING MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD TO OTHERS OF LIKE FAITH!
2 Peter 1:1-3 - “To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him Who called us by glory and virtue.”
Notice that ‘grace and peace multiplied’ and ‘His divine power’ for all things that pertain to life and godliness come from a ‘RELATIONSHIP’ with people of like precious faith as well as ‘the knowledge of Him’ Who called us… connecting to God as well as connecting to people manifests grace and peace multiplied as well as divine power for all things.
Hebrews 10:22-25 (TPT) – “We come closer to God and approach Him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from Him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out! So now we must cling tightly to the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps His promises! (Connection to God) Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing, because we need each other! In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.” (Connection to others)
Let’s make this confession of faith…
“I have something others need – when I connect to God, while connecting to others, supernatural miracle working power is released!”
