Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Matthew 5:14-15
“You are the light of the world…”
The Passion Translation says, “Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance…” Some believers think that it is their job as lights to expose everything bad in this world… now, sometimes we do have to expose bad things, but mostly, our job is to shine our lights on Jesus as the way, the truth and the life…
The headlights of your car light up the road ahead, not the jungle around you… like headlights on a car we are to light up the road ahead… the road is Jesus, He is the way, the truth and the life… if we influence people to follow Jesus, if we illuminate Jesus, then we are being light.
There are many bad things in this world, the devil has many plans to hurt people and to destroy their lives, but if we continually focus on what the devil is up to in an effort to be the kind of light that is commissioned to expose darkness, the focus on darkness will eventually take over our lives… however if we shine our lights on Jesus, His Word and His answer, then we will place people on the road of life and we will keep our own minds stayed on Him… (You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.) - Isaiah 26:3
Be the light… shine your light on Jesus, so that others may know Him and be blessed!
