Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Ephesians 1:3 (TPT)
Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because He sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate Him with all our hearts!
Everything that you will ever need for life and godliness has already been laid up for you in heavenly places in Christ Jesus – they are given as ‘spiritual blessings’ in heavenly places… in other words, our blessings have already been given to us, but they need to be ‘received’ by grace through faith before they manifest in the natural realm. These provisions are already ours and do not depend upon us doing everything right – receiving them only depends upon our faith in the finished work of Jesus.
When things go wrong, many believers immediately begin to question… “What did I do wrong?” Under the Law God blessed His people for doing right, and allowed curses to come upon them for doing wrong, but in the New Covenant, under grace… we get to be blessed because of what Jesus did and we get to receive mercy a grace for the things that we do wrong.
Because of Jesus, you are blessed in spite of your actions – you are blessed because of your faith in His actions… so, if you find yourself in a place of lack, do not question your actions, or your choices, or whether you did everything right, or whether you may have made a mistake… simply use your faith and receive what you need by grace through faith! Take your spiritual blessing and bring it into manifestation in the natural realm by grace through faith!
For believers, lack is always because of that believer placing too much focus on their own actions, and not enough focus the fact that their needs are already met in Christ – instead of focusing on receiving by grace through faith, they focus on their own actions, their own ability and their own unworthiness.
We all want to do the right thing to our best ability, but doing the right things to our best ability is not a pre-condition to receiving what we need… receiving what we need is entirely about putting faith in Jesus and laying hold of His free provision through grace!
Blessings on you, Nick
