Lord, I have chosen You alone as my inheritance. You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion.
I leave my destiny and its timing in Your hands
Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places. I’m overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following You, for You have given me the best!
The way You counsel and correct me makes me praise You more, for Your whispers in the night give me wisdom, showing me what to do next.
Because You are close to me and always available, my confidence will never be shaken,
for I experience Your wrap-around presence every moment.
My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory! Even my body will rest confident and secure.
For some, ‘resting’ is much more challenging than working hard in an effort to bring things to pass and to bring about solutions. Resting in a scriptural sense really has nothing to do with how hard that you are working - it has more to do with who, or what you are trusting in... are you trusting in your own hard work and your own efforts, or are you trusting in the Lord?
Many believers lay awake at night, stressing because the weight of finding a solution for what they are facing is bearing down on them. They are totally depending upon themselves, circumstances, or others to provide or to solve the problem that they are facing.
Resting is casting your cares upon the Lord and placing your trust in Him to the point of total peace in the midst of the storm.
Prophetically speaking, the Lord is showing me that many of you that are reading this are in a great deal of stress right now... stress is the opposite of rest! Stress is a result of self-reliance- rest is the result of God-reliance. Stress says, “I have to resolve this issue, I have to come up with a solution, I have to find provision” - rest says, “Jesus has already resolved this, the Father has already provided, a miracle is on it’s way, I can rely on the faithfulness of God!”
Enter His rest today as you pray this...
