Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Philippians 4:8 (AMP)
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
There are seasons in every believer’s life that seem mundane… like you are just going through the motions… not very exciting… just existing as the days seem to fly by, enjoy those times! If you could see in the spirit realm, the Lord and His angel armies are continually blocking things from happening to you… a diagnoses of cancer, a bad car accident, somebody suing you, an audit, a break in and an assault… the devil is continually shooting his fiery arrows to kill, to steal and to destroy, so when things are quiet, seemingly mundane, raise your hands and praise the Lord, because He is shielding you.
Many people wish that they could have an uneventful, quiet seemingly mundane season in their lives… there is a person out there who is dealing with a life threatening disease, she does not have a vehicle, so she depends on the bus… she is facing eviction, a loved one just got in a terrible accident… she cant sleep at night due to anxiety, and she can’t remember the last time that she sat down to relax… her life is not mundane, it’s not quiet and all she dreams about is a ‘normal’ uneventful day. To that person… “this is a reminder that God sees your situation, keep the faith, a miracle is in the making right now… tour test will be a testimony!”
When things are quiet and still and uneventful, you are being covered… you are in a place of spiritual shelter, so just relax and enjoy it, and thank the Lord everyday for what could have been, had He not intervened.
In those seemingly uneventful times, set your mind on something good… thank God for what is NOT happening to you and meditate upon whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and
brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things, center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart.
Exciting times will come and go… all of life is not a mountain top, but whether in the valley, whether you are climbing to the top, or whether you are experiencing the thrill of the mountaintop, remember… God is in all of it… focus on what He is doing, not on what the devil is doing… focus on your blessings and what is, not on what could be… selah!
