Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (AMP)

Now [remember] this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to others] will also reap generously [and be blessed].

Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift]. And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.

This scripture is specifically talking about sowing finances, but it also applies to other areas of giving - serving and giving of yourself in church as a volunteer another vitally important area of giving… in 1 Corinthians 12:28 the gift of the ministry of helps and the gift of administration is mentioned in the same sentence as apostles, prophets, teachers and miracles…

It takes faith to step out and use the gifts and talents that you have been given by God in serving. Why does it take Faith? Because when you use a ministry gift or a gift of the Spirit, you are relying on the Holy Spirit for your gift to go beyond your natural ability, you are believing for the supernatural ability of God to miraculously flow through you, through your gift, to bless and bring a blessing on those whose lives being touched through you.

When you step out in faith to use your gift before the Lord, it’s like giving a financial offering, except now, you are the vessel and your gift becomes the offering. It is important that your gift be used ‘not under compulsion’ or grudgingly, but thoughtfully, with inspiration and with profound purpose, surrendered to His call and the powerful anointing of God on your life.

As you step out, stand on this scripture that says that God delights in the one whose heart is in his gift – use your gifts and talents wholeheartedly to glorify God just as if you were giving the biggest financial gift you have ever given and as you do, the joy of the Lord will flow though you.

When you give of yourself in serving in church, His grace, His favor and blessings, will flow abundantly through you and open doors of opportunity – you will be raised up in other areas – as you serve through the ministry of helps, helping administratively organize or in other needed areas, your ministry gifts and talents will be increased, multiplied and just as if you were sowing a huge financial seed, your life will be transformed by His riches in Glory. His Word is alive and working powerfully in your life… keep yielding wholeheartedly and stand back and see what He unleashes through your life. Pray about stepping out and giving of yourself through serving in 2020 – as you do, remember what the bible says, ‘if you want to be raised up in God’s kingdom, learn to be a servant of all!

Blessings on you, Esther
