Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Genesis 5:22 (AMP)
Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God three hundred years after the birth of Methuselah and had other sons and daughters.
The Lord wants us to walk with Him in continual, habitual fellowship. Jesus is not the head of a religion, He is the creator of Heaven and earth… He created everything that has ever been created, including you and me (John 1:1-3), and now, He wants to have continual, habitual fellowship with us.
Revelation 3:20 says ‘Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.’ – here Jesus expresses His desire to fellowship with us by comparing His fellowship to a continual ‘feast’… there is indeed sustenance in divine fellowship with Jesus – As we fellowship with Jesus, we are fed… what are we fed? We are fed the Word!
As we fellowship with Jesus we are feasting on the living, powerful Word… as we fellowship the Word is sown into our hearts, and in that Word seed is a harvest of provision… anointing seeds, prosperity seeds, health seeds, ability seeds, wisdom seeds, gifts of the Spirit seeds… seeds for every need and seeds for every assignment. All of this is imparted as we take time to fellowship with Jesus!
Religion wants to bypass the fellowship and receive the reward through philosophy and religious practice, but in Christianity we receive through fellowship with Jesus. As you meditate upon His Word, receive His Word as fellowship, as you pray, don’t just pray, fellowship… as you sing and worship, don’t just worship, fellowship… seek and desire to encounter and to experience genuine fellowship with Jesus. – “Jesus, come to me, make Yourself known to me, show me Your glory, manifest yourself to me, speak to me, infuse me with Your presence… feed me Your Word, show me Your ways… fellowship with me Jesus!”
Continually seek Jesus out! John 14:21 says, ‘He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest (reveal) Myself to him.’ Loving Jesus begins with receiving His overflowing, unconditional, unending love… one we receive that love, we will have love to give back – fellowship is all about receiving, and then giving love… in the midst of the receiving and giving, Jesus says that He will manifest Himself to us. Jesus intends for us to have a real relationship with Him… He wants to manifest Himself to you!
Once Jesus has manifested Himself to you, once you have seen Him, experienced Him and encountered Him, you will never be the same!
Blessings on you, Nick
