Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Acts 1:8 (AMP)
But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”
John 14:26 (AMP) - But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.
Not only did Jesus tell us that we would receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit came upon us… Jesus also told us that the Holy Spirit would be our helper – our comforter, advocate, intercessor, counselor and strengthener. We have the Holy Spirit operating in our lives and we have His power.
The bible says we ‘receive’ power. The Holy Spirit wants us receiving all that He has for us on a continual basis… not just when in emergencies when we need Him to intervene, or when we think about Him, He wants us receiving from him 24/7. He wants us in constant fellowship and communion with Him - keep the flow of receiving going.
2 Cor. 13:14 reminds us to walk in Communion with the Holy Spirit… constant fellowship. Let’s not get our minds so involved in the business of life that we miss out on fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. As we fellowship with Him, we open ourselves up to receive His guidance, His leading, His strengthening comfort in our lives. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit will empower us to run the race He has called us to. We don’t need man’s approval or man’s motivation, just the power of the Holy Ghost. – amen!
Blessings on you, Esther
