Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Hebrews 12:1-2
Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Passion Translation says this, ‘We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus Who birthed faith within us and Who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because His heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, He endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!’
The way that Jesus dealt with the pain of the present, was to look beyond His present pain to His future triumph. While Jesus was on the cross, He looked into the future with eyes of faith and saw billions of people redeemed, blessed and living the abundant life in the New Covenant that He was establishing.
Paul admonishes us to do the same thing and to follow the example of Jesus. In your times of pain, look beyond your present pain to your future triumph. Your future will end in triumph as long as you do not give up. The Father always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. - 2 Corinthians 2:14
Look beyond your present struggles with eyes of faith and see yourself dancing in victory in the face of your future triumph. Get the Word of God on your future and focus on that. Doing that will infuse endurance into you and give you the supernatural ability to press on!
Blessings on you, Nick
