Today’s devotion comes from Hebrews 10:12-14 (NLT)
But our High Priest offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then He sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There He waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under His feet. For by that one offering He forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
You have been made perfect in Christ…
Because of what Jesus did on the cross of Calvary, those who receive Him as Lord and Savior are FOREVER made perfect! Your only flaws are in your flesh – think of it this way… a diamond is made perfect through heat, pressure and many years of time – when it is mined, it is perfect, but it is imbedded in rock – the ‘perfect diamond’ has to be removed from the rock and then facets have to be cut into it to reflect the light and to show its perfection… like a diamond, you have forever been made perfect and you are ‘being made’ holy!
Those that are being made holy…
Holiness is a process – holiness is the removal of the diamond out of the rock and the cutting of facets… the rock and the rough exterior of the diamond is your flesh – as we yield to the school of the Spirit, [the anointing, the glory and the Word, which is the sword of the Spirit], we begin to emerge out of the rock of the flesh – then the Holy Spirit uses the Word as a sword and begins to cut out the rough exterior, by cutting facets into us so that we can reflect the light within and around us. This is the PROCESS of sanctification – The longer we yield to that process, the more we shine and the more we reflect His glory
The bottom line is… in Christ you are a perfect diamond, a precious jewel!
Do not allow yourself to be identified by your rough exterior – knowing your true identity and your true value will motivate you to endure the process of sanctification. That process is often painful and it happens one stage at a time – focusing on the end result is key!
A diamond has been made forever perfect…
What a shame if that perfect diamond gets discarded and cast aside because of its exterior. Most people would not recognize a diamond in its raw form… Most people will not see your perfection in Christ while you are undergoing His process, but it is important that you know that Jesus sees it – It is important for you to see it, and it is equally important for you to surround yourself with other who see it.
Say this, “by one offering, Jesus has forever made me perfect! I am now being made holy by His Word and the transforming glory of the Lord! The more that I yield to His process of sanctification, the more that I will display His glory!”
Make this confession of faith - say this out loud with me…
“John 17:17 says that I am sanctified and set apart by Your truth - Your Word is truth - Your Word absolute truth – the Word is for me to walk in, to accept as final truth and for me to stand on, to declare by faith and for me to do – I am who the Word says that I am - I can do what the Word says I can do - I can be who the Word says I can be - Christ in me can do all things – I can do all things through Christ - I have absolute POWER over ALL the Work of the enemy – nothing shall by any means harm me – I have power to raise the dead – I have power to heal the sick – I have power to do the works of Jesus – I have total authority over all of the works of His hands in Jesus Name! – the power and the authority of the creator of all things is on the inside of me – when I speak by faith, I ALWAYS have what I say – As I speak the Word, the Father ALWAYS watches over it to perform it – The Father loves it when I expect Him to ALWAYS perform His EVERY Word! – I always expect the Father to bring to pass every word that I speak according to His Word – God is not a man that He should lie – His Word is literal, His Word is truth and His Word is final!”
