Notice that Jesus called money ‘unrighteous’…
In the King James Version money is referred to as filthy lucre five times. The world system we live in has corrupted money and the whole financial system has become corrupt. There is however a way that we can sanctify our money and make it clean and use it for the glory of God!
You can sanctify money by tithing…
Romans 11:16 says, “For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.” Tithing, or giving a tenth of your income to the Lord in worship sanctifies (makes clean) the other ninety percent. When you give 10% to God of whatever you have (money, time, energy, etc.), He sanctifies the other 90%.
Tithing sanctifies your money and whatever is holy, the devil cannot touch…
The bible says that, ‘Here mortal men receive tithes, but there He receives them, of whom it is witnessed that He lives.’ (Hebrews 7:8) – in other words, in the New Covenant, as tithes are being received by a man or a woman on earth, at the same time Jesus receives them in Heaven.
Jesus receiving our tithe makes it holy… so as we give him 10%, it becomes Holy, and that which is Holy immediately sanctifies, cleans and blesses that which was unrighteous or filthy – As we tithe, the 10% sanctifies the 90% - Glory be to God! Stop now and ask the Holy Spirit to give you this powerful revelation!
Believers who do not tithe are operating with unrighteous mammon…
Even though they have freely been given all things that pertain to life and godliness in Christ, that unrighteous mammon becomes a headache that can be so severe that it can consume the believer with stress. The bible says that the blessings of the Lord make one rich and He adds no sorrow to it – The Lord does not want you living in stress because of unrighteous mammon!
If you are not a tither, why don’t you let go of your fears, trust the Lord and worship Him with your tithe… as you do, He will sanctify what you have, and trust me, sanctified money is blessed money, and blessed money is stress free money!
Lets look at Abram…
Genesis 14:20 says, “And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And Abram gave him a tithe of all.”
Before the Law, Abram shared bread and wine (a foreshadow of New Covenant communion) with Melchizedek (Jesus – When you read Hebrews seven, it makes it abundantly clear that Melchizedek was Jesus). After Abram tithed, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”” (Genesis 15:1)
The Hebrew word ‘Reward’ is ‘sâkâr’, literally meaning income, wages, or salary – in other words, “Do not be afraid, I will protect what I have given to you and greatly increase your income”. When we tithe 10% the Lord becomes our shield and protects and blesses the other 90%
In God’s economy, the tithe (10%) makes the remaining 90% holy and brings an exceedingly great increase of income!
Most of you are already faithful tithers and generous givers, so this teaching will be a ‘shout, hallelujah and amen moment’ – for the rest, let me say… “Tithing is a huge step of faith, but so is everything else that the Lord wants us to do – as you step out in faith and worship Jesus with your tithe, get ready for a shift – many of you have had prophecies from the Lord concerning wealth and financial blessing – tithing will open the door for that blessing. The devil has tried everything to talk you out of tithing, because he wants you stressed, not blessed. Why don’t you kick him in the teeth, step out in faith and tithe and see what happens?”
Make this confession of faith - say this out loud with me…
“John 17:17 says that I am sanctified and set apart by Your truth - Your Word is truth - Your Word absolute truth – the Word is for me to walk in, to accept as final truth and for me to stand on, to declare by faith and for me to do – I am who the Word says that I am - I can do what the Word says I can do - I can be who the Word says I can be - Christ in me can do all things – I can do all things through Christ - I have absolute POWER over ALL the Work of the enemy – nothing shall by any means harm me – I have power to raise the dead – I have power to heal the sick – I have power to do the works of Jesus – I have total authority over all of the works of His hands in Jesus Name! – the power and the authority of the creator of all things is on the inside of me – when I speak by faith, I ALWAYS have what I say – As I speak the Word, the Father ALWAYS watches over it to perform it – The Father loves it when I expect Him to ALWAYS perform His EVERY Word! – I always expect the Father to bring to pass every word that I speak according to His Word – God is not a man that He should lie – His Word is literal, His Word is truth and His Word is final!”
