Family, in Christ, through the New Covenant we have already been given total prosperity which includes divine health, supernatural ability, peace, joy and an overflow of supply that transcends our own needs. Why is it then that there are only a few believers walking in this New Covenant prosperity and so many other believers are living in lack, in sickness, in depression and in defeat?
The Bible says in 3 John 2 that ‘You prosper in all things and are in health, just as your soul prospers.’ Your soul is the catalyst for all true prosperity.
YOUR SOUL IS YOUR MIND, WILL AND EMOTIONS…
YOUR SOUL IS YOUR PROCESSOR – IT PROCESSES EVERYTHING THAT YOU FACE IN LIFE…
If your processor is broken, it processes everything according to the flesh and the flesh cannot contain the blessings and the prosperity of the Lord – broken processor, broken life – broken soul, broken life! A believer that has a damaged soul, that has suffered hurt and soul destroying things has the same prosperity and blessings poured on them as a believer with a prosperous soul – the difference is that the believer with the damaged soul is like a strainer full of holes – blessings are poured in, but not contained. A believer with a prosperous soul is like a golden cup, he or she contains all of the blessings of the Lord to overflowing – that overflowing cup is New Covenant prosperity.
WHAT CAUSES OUR SOUL TO PROSPER?
James 1:21 says to lay aside all filthiness andoverflow of wickedness, and to receive with meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save [Prosper] your soul.
THE RECEIVED, EMBRACED, IMPLANTED WORD CAUSES YOUR SOUL TO PROSPER.
MANY BELIEVERS HAVE THE WORD PLANTED IN THEM, BUT THEY ARE NOT RECEIVING IT!
They are either rejecting the implanted Word emotionally, or mentally or in the area of their will. In their broken, damaged state they go by fleshly feelings, worldly desires and a infected world view. According to their flesh the Word that is planted on the inside of them and the truth therein simply does not FEEL right emotionally, or their flesh just does not WANT what the Word says, or because of deception and an unrenewed mind they don’t BELIEVE what has been imparted and planted. Others are blocked by fear and others by self-reliance.
Let’s take a little time to meditate on this subject of the implanted Word as Jesus taught it…
In Mark 4:14-20 Jesus begins to teach – He begins by interpreting His parable, “The sower sows the Word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the Word is sown. When they hear, satan comes immediately and takes away the Word that was sown in their hearts.
These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the Word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the Word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the Word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful.
But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hearthe Word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
As believers we all have the Word sown and implanted into our hearts or our souls, but just like in Jesus’ teaching, many do not receive the implanted Word because of the condition of their hearts. The souls of many believers are the shallow ground, the rocky ground and the thorny ground. Those with prosperous souls or good ground bear fruit and prosper, the others are given the same potential blessings, but because of the condition of their souls their blessings, their health and their prosperity is stolen.
HOW DO I RECEIVE THE IMPLANTED WORD?
Firstly, in the New Covenant we receive faith with your mouths and our confession. Romans 10:10 says thatwith the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. With the mouth confession is made unto prosperity, unto divine health, unto supernatural ability and unto our inheritance in Christ. In the New Covenant our words of faith are receivers – we get what we declare in faith according to the Word.
In other words we have to get to the place where we trusting the Lord enough to say, “I receive, I accept, I embrace and I will do that!, even though my flesh may not want to, or understand, I now yield and I now begin to receive with my confession of faith”
Secondly, we receive the implanted Word by doing it… begin by taking baby steps – here a little, there a little. Everytime truth is imparted and planted into your heart, do at least one thing that was planted into your heart – start by declaring, “I will love my enemy”, and then send them a $5 gift card or something. Declare, “I love to pray in the Holy Ghost”, and then pray in the Holy Ghost for two minutes… whatever is imparted, declare it, and then do something small. Eventually, as your soul begins to prosper you will go from (metaphorically speaking), walking 25 yards to running a marathon.
