Today’s devotion is from 2 Peter 1:2-4 (TPT)
May grace and perfect peace cascade over you as you live in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotionto God has already been deposited in us by His divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing Him Who has called us by name and invited us to come to Him through a glorious manifestation of His goodness.
As a result of this, He has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnershipwith the divine nature... (That you may be a partaker of His divine nature –NKJV)
New Covenant grace imparts power so that we can be partakers of His divine nature…
Because of His grace we have been given magnificent promises that are beyond all price, but best of all, because of grace, we get to be partakers of Jesus’ divine nature - we get to experience partnershipwith the divine nature of Jesus! Isn’t that amazing… in the New Covenant power is imparted through grace for us to be like Jesus.
You and I can partake of His nature and have His divine nature operating in and through us. Just think about it, Jesus has given us His power, His authority as well as His nature through grace. That is why Jesus said that we will do the works that He did and even greater works. It is in His Name, by His divine nature, His supernatural power and His anointed authority operating in and through us that we rule and reign in this life with Christ.
By His divine nature in us we do not only do what Jesus does, we do it the way He does it and with the same heart. By partaking in His divine nature we have His attitude, His heart, His compassion, we have His values and we have His tenderness. We show mercy as Jesus would show mercy, we show strength as Jesus would show strength and we lead in the exact same way that Jesus led. You see, to continue the works of Jesus here on earth and to fully represent Him, it is not enough to walk in His power and authority, we have to have His nature as well.
Many believers teach the Word, pray for the sick and are used to impart miracles in Jesus Name, but many are not doing it like Jesus would have done it – they do not operate according to His divine nature. Many greatly used men and woman of God are harsh, abrupt, course and cutting… they go around doing things with an ‘un-Christ-like’ temperament. They do phenomenal things, but they do it with the nature of their flesh instead of doing what they do by His divine nature -this hinders the work of God tremendously.
Receive grace today to partake of Jesus’ divine nature and do His works His way, in Jesus Name!
