Today’s devotion is from 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The Amplified Bible Classic addition says, ‘Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!’ (2 Corinthians 5:17 - AMPC)

The Greek words for ‘new creation’ can be literally translated, ‘newly made, or a newly created species of being’

The moment you got born again the Lord made you a new species of being that has never existed before. You were spiritually born again into His image and likeness – the old you passed away and from that moment forward, all things became new. You still looked the same in a mirror, but you were made alive on the inside and a new you was born.

The new you came with God’s DNA, His miracle working power, His authority and His supernatural, unlimited ability in Christ through Jesus Name.

Galatians 3:28 says that there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. In Christ your new identity is beyond previous distinctions of race, nationality or sexual identity, your new identity is that of a first generation child of God, righteous, holy and full of power to continue the works of Jesus.

As this new species of being in Christ, you can do everything that Jesus did by faith, in His Name, by the power of the Spirit! A revelation of who we are in Christ will revolutionize your life and your walk with God! Most limitations that believers face are either rooted in not knowing Who God is, or not knowing who they are in Christ. Ask the Lord today for a revelation of who you are in Him.

Psalm 91 is a revelation given to David about who people would be in Christ. Psalm 91 tells you who you are in Christ and that as a new species in Christ that nothing shall by any means harm you. As you meditate upon Psalm 91, renew your mind to the reality that ‘in Christ’ you are divinely protected and that ‘in Christ’ you have nothing to fear. Jesus is the secret place of habitation and as we live and move and have our being in Him, we can do all things through Him.

Psalm 91

1-4 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High [Jesus] shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, [Jesus alone is my refuge] my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

5-8 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. (AMP - Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place)

9-13 If you make the Lord [Jesus] your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,no evil will conquer you;no plague will come near your home. For He will order His angelsto protect you wherever you go.They will hold you up with their handsso you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras;you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

14-16 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love Me.I will protect those who trust in My Name. When they call on Me, I will answer;I will be with them in trouble.I will rescue and honor them.I will reward them with a long lifeand give them My salvation.”
