Today’s devotion is from 2 Corinthians 4:7-8 (TPT)

We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option.

Are you facing pressure today? Financial pressure, pressure to make decisions when you do not know what to do? Are you facing things that are bigger than you? Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. As we take on the pressure in the strength and the ability of the Holy Spirit, instead of that pressure crushing us, it will bring out the diamonds in us.

Diamonds are formed over time under great heat and then great pressure. Time, heat and pressure… usually those three things will destroy things, but this is not the case with a diamond and in Christ, it will not be the case with you. Allow the Lord to use the time, the heat and the pressure to bring out the diamond in you. Like common jars of clay carry glorious treasure within, you have diamonds on the inside of you. The same pressure, the same fire over a long time would destroy others, but it will not destroy us, it will make diamonds.

Pressure is never fun, but His grace gives us the faith to cast all of our cares and all of our pressures on Jesus. As Jesus takes our cares and our pressures, we are able to enjoy life ‘dancing in the fire with Jesus’ like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They all came out of the fire as diamonds, shining and reflecting the light of the goodness of God for thousands of years to this day - Selah
