Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

This is the Season that we celebrate the birth of Jesus. When you read the bible, you continually read about feasts, festivities and celebrations… from weddings to special occasions. The Lord allowed those festivities to be recorded in the Word so that we would know that He created in us, the ability to celebrate special occasions – times to remember what He did, what He is about to do and the greatness of our Lord.

Christmas is yet another season, where we set aside our business to celebrate the greatest gift ever given to mankind by God Himself, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Prince of Peace, our Jesus, our wonderful Savior. I stand amazed at how almost the whole world celebrates Christmas. Even the unsaved, give gifts, and wish each other “Merry Christmas”.

Countries that deny Christianity, will imprison people for celebrating Christmas and the Christmas celebration is banned in many countries. Thank the Lord today, for the freedom we have in this country, to celebrate the greatest gift of all time – Jesus Christ.

I know many get caught up in their opinions as to how to and how not to celebrate Christmas. Friends, be free to celebrate Christmas without any condemnation. It’s all about Jesus and as long as you make it all about Jesus, other people’s opinions don’t matter.

Many people are caught up in the debate whether it is ok or not to celebrate with lights, jingle bells, Christmas trees, Christmas wreaths, Christmas ornaments and such… Titus 1:15 says, ‘Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled’.

My advice is… don’t allow the greatest celebration of all time, to be a time where you become judgmental on how others are celebrating. Work out your own salvation, keep your eyes on Jesus, keep the joy of the Lord flowing out of your mouth and your words, keep your mind fixed on Phil 4:8 “ whatever is good and true…” and have fun celebrating the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord – Jesus.

Be blessed, and if you are on Island today, come join us at Amazing Love Church for another powerful service! Blessings on you, Esther
