Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Hebrews 2:1
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
We need to give more earnest heed to the Word that we have heard…
In Hebrews 1:3 the Holy Spirit lays the foundation for Hebrews 2:1 – ‘The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature — His mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of His spoken Word…’ (Hebrews 1:3 - TPT)
The mighty power of His Word holds the universe together and expands it – we need to hold onto the Word that we have heard! I stand amazed when I think of all of the powerful things that I have heard and received revelation on from the Word in just the last year! We can all fall into the trap of always positioning ourselves for the next revelation, while letting the last revelation slip. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
I believe that we should keep some kind of a record, either in a notebook, or on an electronic device of the revelations that we have received and heard from the Word – we need to continually review past revelations and put them into practice, so that we do not let them slip. I am so blessed by the steady impartations of fresh revelation from the Word, however, I make sure to continually review revelations of the past, so as to keep them relevant, fresh and operational in my life.
I go back and listen to old teachings from Kenneth E. Hagin – I listen to snit-bits of old teachings from Oral Roberts – I re-read teachings from E. W. Kenyon – I go over my past teachings and revelations – I continually take heed to the Word that I have heard and the revelations out of the Word that I have received in times past. All new revelation is given to be built upon the foundation of what has already been revealed.
If we let the Word of the Lord from the past slip away, the fresh revelation has nothing to build upon – fresh revelation will keep you excited, fed and blessed, however it has to be added to revelations of the past if we are going to grow. Take heed to what you HAVE HEARD and add the fresh to it, in Jesus Name!
Blessings on you, may you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers, i lā nani (have a wonderful day), Nick
