Today’s devotion is from Ephesians 4:15-16 (AMP)
But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] Who is the Head—Christ. From Him the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up in [unselfish] love.
You may live on an Island, but you are not to be an island unto yourself…
When Jesus, the Head of the church gives assignments, He gives those assignments to teams, not to individuals – in other words, your calling cannot be achieved by you alone, and God never intended that you do it alone, when He gives an assignment, He gives it to a team that can only be successful as they work together – it takes a village!
One of the strategies of the enemy is to deceive people into thinking that they can do what they are called to do on their own. Hurts, disappointments, disloyalty together with the lack of ability, lack of heart, lack of excellence and the general idiosyncrasies of others cause many to give up on others and attempt to walk the road alone. I always get concerned when I see someone disconnecting and pulling away to themselves – the enemy’s plan is to divide and conquer!
As flawed and as complicated as your God given team may be, you need them and they need you and you can only succeed together! It takes praying for one another, loving one another, giving grace to one another… it take patience, persistence, words of affirmation, waiting on one another, believing in each other and continually focusing on the diamond in each other to succeed!
A team of flawed individuals together with the anointing on their lives and a determination to walk by grace through faith by the power of the Spirit is an unstoppable force!
Find the church of people of like faith that God has assigned to you, find your team within that church, and then be committed… serve one another, pray for one another, encourage one another, challenge one another and speak life to one another – as you do, the Spirit will come on you and your team as He came on those in the upper room in the book of acts… ‘when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place - suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting… and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and power…’
