Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Luke 4:18-19 (AMP)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent Me to announce release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed (downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy), to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the favor of God abound greatly].”
Jesus made a decree as a King and proclaimed a season of FAVOR over His kingdom…
Jesus established a New Covenant of unmerited favor for such a time as this! We are living in this time of favor under proclamation of our King Jesus. He paid the price on the cross of Calvary for us to enjoy unmerited favor in all that we do.
DAVID PROPHESIED THIS SEASON…
In Psalm 5:12 David prophesied this season of favor that you and I are now living in, he said, ‘For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.’
At the time of his prophecy there were no righteous people on the earth. Under the Law, “there are ‘non righteous’, no not one – that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God” (Romans 3:10, 19) - this is how we know that it is a prophecy because there were no righteous people in the eyes of the Lord under the Law in David’s time. Praise the Lord, we are righteous in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21), and the prophecy is for you and I… David prophesied this amazing season that we live in now, that in Christ, the Lord’s favor surrounds us and wraps itself around us like a shield. We are so blessed to be alive in this time of unmerited favor in Christ!
Romans 5:17 For if by the one man’s sin, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
GRACE IS UNMERITED FAVOR
GRACE IS UNMERITED FAVOR TOWARDS THE FATHER AND TOWARDS OTHERS
UNMERITED FAVOR WITH GOD AND MAN CAUSES YOU TO REIGN IN LIFE THROUGH JESUS
Acts 20:32 says, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
The Passion Translation says, “And so now, I entrust you into God’s hands and the message of His grace, which is all that you need to become strong. All of God’s blessings are imparted through the message of His grace, which He provides as the spiritual inheritance given to all of His holy ones.”
Unmerited favor and grace builds us up and it gives us an inheritance as His righteous ones. Unmerited favor and grace under the New Covenant empowers us to prosper and to reign in this life, through the One, Jesus Christ!
HOW DO WE INCREASE IN THE LEVEL OF GRACE THAT WE OPERATE IN?
Hebrews 4:16 gives us the answer, ‘Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.’ ‘Obtain’ and ‘find’ are two different key words that the Holy Spirit uses to impart revelation on mercy and grace.
Obtain comes from the Greek word ‘Lambáno’ – it literally means to take, to receive or catch. We are instructed to ‘catch’, or receive the mercy that the Father is throwing at us, or pouring on us at the throne of grace.
The word ‘find’ is translated from the Greek word ‘Heurísko’ – it literally means ‘to discover or to get a revelation’. The Holy Spirit is telling us that we need to get a revelation of grace at the throne of grace. The Holy Spirit wants to impart more and more revelation on divine grace to His children, for such a time as this! Press into His presence and enter His throne of grace by faith, then use your faith to receive a revelation on the GRACE that you have in Christ!
WE INCREASE THE LEVEL OF GRACE AND UNMERITED FAVOR WE OPERATE IN BY RECEIVING A GREATER REVELATION OF THE SUPERNATURAL, DIVINE GRACE THAT IS OURS IN CHRIST.
The Passion translation says it this way, ‘So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.’ To discover is to get a revelation… we need a revelation of grace to walk in it! We need a revelation of the unmerited favor given to us toward the Father and we need a revelation of the unmerited favor given to us toward people!
A REVELATION OF GRACE TOWARD THE FATHER…
As a born again believer, you are in Christ, and in Christ you are perfect in the Father's eyes... in Christ all that He has belongs to you... in Christ you have full access to the treasure chest of the father... your access code to His treasure chest is the Name of Jesus! When you say, "in Jesus Name", you can ask, or freely receive anything that the Father has... it is all yours in Christ because of our wonderful covenant of grace.
THE FATHER IS SMILING UPON YOU
THE FATHER GIVES YOU ACCESS TO ALL THAT HE HAS
A REVELATION OF GRACE TOWARD PEOPLE…
There is and anointing of grace toward people… this anointing draws people to you, it makes you attractive in the eyes of others and gives you favor towards them…
FAVOR IN MAKING DEALS, FAVOR TO BE LIKED AND TRUSTED
FAVOR THAT CAUSES OTHERS TO WANT TO BLESS YOU!
When you get a revelation of the divine grace that is given to you, you will walk in greater boldness, greater confidence, greater faith, greater authority and you will walk in a greater anointing! His unmerited favor operating in your life will change your life and it will change the lives of those around you!
