Today’s devotion is from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (TPT)
Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.
When I look at the Holy Spirit’s definition of ‘agape love’ revealed to Paul the Apostle to the church at Corinth, I realize how much grace I need to love like this…
No one can fully operate in ‘agape love’ towards others outside of grace. This is a supernatural love that flows to us and then through us by the power of the Spirit. As impossible as it is to love like this in our own strength, it is possible to walk in the fullness of ‘agape love’ by grace, through faith.
Instead of looking at 1 Corinthians 13 as an unreachable ideal, set your faith to walk in it by the grace given to you. God is ‘agape love’, so receive His ‘agape love’ essence by faith and then let it flow through you. As you do, say, “I receive the fullness of your presence Lord, You are love, and I receive Your love now by grace through faith – as I receive your love, I receive the supernatural ability to release it to others by grace, through faith! Your love in me gives me supernatural ability to walk in patience, gentleness and kindness towards others, by the power of Your love flowing through me, I am never jealous when blessings come to others, I never behave rudely, I do not seek my own, I am not easily provoked, I do not take offense, I rejoice in the truth, Your love in me bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things.”
Make this confession of faith - say this out loud with me…
“John 17:17 says that I am sanctified and set apart by Your truth - Your Word is truth - Your Word absolute truth – the Word is for me to walk in, to accept as final truth and for me to stand on, to declare by faith and for me to do – I am who the Word says that I am - I can do what the Word says I can do - I can be who the Word says I can be - Christ in me can do all things – I can do all things through Christ - I have absolute POWER over ALL the Work of the enemy – nothing shall by any means harm me – I have power to raise the dead – I have power to heal the sick – I have power to do the works of Jesus – I have total authority over all of the works of His hands in Jesus Name! – the power and the authority of the creator of all things is on the inside of me – when I speak by faith, I ALWAYS have what I say – As I speak the Word, the Father ALWAYS watches over it to perform it – The Father loves it when I expect Him to ALWAYS perform His EVERY Word! – I always expect the Father to bring to pass every word that I speak according to His Word – God is not a man that He should lie – His Word is literal, His Word is truth and His Word is final!”
