Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Romans 12:11-12 (TPT)
Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward Him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let Him fill you with excitement as you serve Him. Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.
I love this scripture as it reads in The Passion Translation… keeping your passion toward the Lord boiling hot is so important! Radiating with the glow of the Holy Spirit and letting the Holy Ghost fill you with excitement as you serve Jesus is not only possible, it is vital! Staying passionate requires a determination to continually press in, in every area of your relationship with the Lord.
There are times when I do not ‘feel’ passionate; those are the times when I command my emotions and my feelings to be renewed and refreshed… there are times when I just feel low energy and my physical state of being does not feel passionate; those are the times when I speak to my body and release the power of the Holy Ghost into my body as I command it to be energized and refreshed. There are times when I just do not feel spiritually on fire or passionate and I kinda feel spiritual apathy and spiritually flat; that is when I stir myself up, pray in the Holy Ghost, shake off the apathy and command my spirit to be full of life, energy and joy.
We cannot just allow ourselves to live without passion for the Lord, or for life… we have to contend to maintain our passion every minute of every day. Allowing a dispassionate existence is allowing lukewarmness to enter. God hates lukewarmness and so should we!
Blessings on you, Nick
