Today’s devotion is from Ephesians 3:20 (AMP)
'Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.'
God carries out His purpose on earth through believers by His power.
The Lord puts His power INTO believers, and then does everything He does on earth THROUGH those same believers.
The Lord does not bypass us as believers when He does mighty exploits; He includes us by working through us. God worked through Moses to part the sea, He worked through Elijah when He raised the widow woman’s son from the dead, and He works through New Covenant believers when we lay our hands on the sick, and they recover.
Notice that the Lord says that He will do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams.
I have heard someone say, “If you can dream it, you can do it…” That may be true when it comes to our own ability, but in Christ we do not operate in our own ability, we do things according to His power that is at work within us. This takes the limits off… by His power at work within us we can do more than we can ever dream, more than we are capable of thinking about, infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams.
It’s not according to our ability; it’s according to His ability and power working through us!
According to the New Covenant, I can do ALL things through Christ Who strengthens me.
The Lord told Paul, “My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Then Paul responded, “Therefore I take pleasure in my weaknesses, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
We may be weak, uneducated, and we may lack leadership skills, but as believers, our success does not depend on our ability, it depends on His ability working through us!
