Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
The Passion Translation says, “Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow!”
The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition says, “Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!”
The definition of ‘rejoice’ is, ‘the expression of joy, exultation, or gladness’. Other definitions gained from the root word ‘rejoice’ are… ‘to rediscover joy, to redeem joy, to recover joy, to recreate joy, and to require joy.’ The word ‘rejoice’ is rooted in the Old French word ‘rejoir’, a combination of ‘re’ and ‘joir’, “to possess and to demonstrate joy.” The Greek word translated as rejoice in Philippians 4:4 is ‘chaírō’, literally meaning ‘be joy, or to personify joy.’ Jesus is JOY personified, and in His presence is fullness of joy; now we as believers are called to personify the joy anointing as His ambassadors!
Paul the apostle was in jail under horrific circumstances, yet in the midst of that, he says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Paul was flooded with the joy anointing in the midst of a horrific, unjust, abusive experience. No matter what you are facing today, REJOICE ALWAYS, and again I say, REJOICE! The JOY anointing will impart SUPERNATURAL strength, power, ability, freedom, and genuine gladness mixed with peace and excitement! See you in church tomorrow! It’s going to be epic!
In His amazing love, Nick
