Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
It matters where you go to church, it matters what your church teaches, it matters what you believe, and it matters what you listen to, it matters that you sit under teachings that rightly divide the Word… it matters!
Jesus said, “Take heed what you hear.” (Mark 4:24) The Passion Translation says, “Be diligent to understand the meaning behind everything you hear, for as you do, more understanding will be given to you.”
There are a lot of well meaning leaders out there who love Jesus, but do not teach the Word as it should be taught… some teach their own ideas based upon ‘God showed me’, without even attempting to back up what they are teaching with scripture, some will take a verse of scripture, and teach something totally out of context, some do not understand that scripture is divided up into different covenants, then they take little bits of different covenants, mix them together, and then, make their own covenant.
The bible says in Hosea 4:6 that “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The Message Bible says, “My people are ruined because they don’t know what’s right or true.” When believers are not taught correctly according to the New Covenant, and even worse… when they are indoctrinated with the wrong things, many die prematurely, many are in poverty and lack, many are needlessly sick and many become subject to whatever circumstances they may be facing.
How many believers cannot overcome cancer, or C-19, because they cannot even overcome the common cold… I am not being critical of them, I have compassion for them!
The reason that millions of believers are not living the blessed life is because of what they believe… a person that goes to the wrong church and listens to the wrong teaching, will believe the wrong things and will be destroyed for lack of knowledge, or because of wrong believing!
Some will pick a church because of the size, because the building is air conditioned, because the parking is convenient, because the seats are comfortable, because that is where their friends go, and many other reasons… not even considering what is being taught, whether the service is anointed, and if the people being equipped to do the works of Jesus.
I know that this devotion may not be politically correct, but if you know someone who is in the wrong church, listening to the wrong teachings and as a result, living without being used of God in signs wonders and miracles, or living with depression, sickness or poverty… if they are not living the blessed life and walking in the power of God, if they are in a program driven, manmade organization that does not care about anything, except how big they are… then ask the Lord to use you to get them out of the web of deception. Ask the Lord to give you a strategy to lead them out of bondage and into a true, modern day book of Acts, word of faith, grace filled, New Covenant church… a church that is Spirit led and full of the Word and power and empty of the programs of man.
It breaks my heart to see so many believers hurting, sick, rejected, in lack, under pressure to perform and not being equipped to live the abundant life, full of power, joy, peace and miracles.
Some nations are facing a huge, deadly third outbreak of a different strain of C-19… thousands of believers are dying… if the true church does not rise up and take authority, America will face the same thing, regardless of vaccinations… thousands of believers are dying of cancer and other diseases… these are serious times that we are living in… it matters what we believe and it matters that we are equipped to face the coming wave of death and destruction… it matters that we get equipped to be ministers and witnesses, for such a time as this… it matters!
I had someone share a testimony with me about how they were diagnosed with cancer… they did not even tell me as their pastor, but stood on the Word and declared the Word by faith, and when they went for a health check-up years later… the cancer was gone… it matters! My own son was diagnosed with C-19… he stood on the Word and shook it off as he had been taught… no medication… in less than a week he was out rock climbing in perfect health… it matters! A pastor friend of mine suffered a huge ‘widowmaker’ heart attack… he should have died, ‘in the natural’, but a few months later he visited Hawaii and went surfing, totally healthy and healed with a new heart… it matters!
This is the greatest hour of the church, and the greatest awakening ever is knocking at the door… at the same time, the devil is going about, seeking whom he can devour. Make sure you and your loved ones and friends are in the right church, being taught the right things and listening to the right teachings… it matters!
