Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Luke 16:10 (NLT)

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”

Many times people focus on big things in life and neglect seemingly less important ‘little’ things…

Jesus points out that our attitude and our stewardship of little things is of utmost importance.

Your day is made up of many little things…

A new study has suggested that an average person has 50,000 thoughts per day and speaks at least 16,000 words per day. The bible says to take ‘EVERY THOUGHT’ captive to the obedience of Christ and Colossians 4:6 (TPT) says, “Let ‘EVERY WORD’ you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.” So, you can start by being a good steward of your thoughts and your words… they are LITTLE things, but, ‘together’, are responsible for very BIG things.

Thoughts, words, gestures and attitudes are all so very important… saying a kind word, giving someone a hug, saying a quick prayer with someone, giving a homeless person an ice-cold drink and some food… all these ‘little things’ are what eventually produce huge things.

Thousands of dollars in debt is usually made up of many ‘little’ purchases. Marriages usually end up being successful, or failing due to thousands of ‘little things’, not one or two big things. A person that is one hundred pounds overweight did not get there by eating too much pizza at the buffet one time… it took thousands of bites of calorie packed undisciplined eating over a long time… and losing the weight will not happen in one crash diet, it will take several thousand ‘less bites’ over a period of years.

Don’t get overwhelmed with the BIG things that you are facing… start being a good steward of the ‘little things’ and the big things will eventually be overtaken as you focus on every little thing by the grace of God and the miracle power of the Holy Ghost… selah!

In His amazing love, Nick
