Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 25:14 (AMPC)
The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.
Some translations say, “The secret of the Lord is with those who ‘fear’ Him.” The Hebrew word for ‘fear’ is better translated ‘reverent worship’.
The Passion Translation says, “There’s a private place reserved for the devoted lovers of Yahweh, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of His promises.”
Notice that this promise is for those who ‘reverently worship’ in a ‘devoted’, deeply respectful way… this is not referring to casual, half hearted worshippers. Worshippers who worship with their whole heart and press into the presence of the Lord in a holy, reverent way receive things from the Lord that others do not.
The Lord reveals secrets and hidden blessings, and gives revelation to whole-hearted, reverent worshippers. When we take the time to sincerely, reverently worship the Lord with all of our hearts, He shows us His covenant secrets and reveals their deep inner meaning to us. The New Covenant of grace is a powerful covenant with unfathomable blessings. Every believer has access to this covenant, but every believer does not access what has been freely given to them in Christ… the reason that they do not, is that they do not have a revelation on what has been given to them… they do not know who they are in Christ, or what they have in Christ.
Reverent, wholehearted worship takes us into the realm of the spirit and opens our spiritual eyes.
Paul prayed that “The Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding [your spiritual eyes] being enlightened; that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” (Ephesians 1:16-19)
When we reverently worship, we enter into the realm of the spirit and our spiritual eyes are opened. As that happens we begin to grasp the blessings in the New Covenant, and we begin to KNOW and UNDERSTAND our calling, we get a revelation of our INHERITANCE in Christ and the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power… selah!
In His amazing love, Nick
