Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Acts 1:8, 2:1-4 (NKJV)
But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be WITNESSES to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The name Pentecost comes from the Greek (Pentēkostē) meaning "fiftieth". It refers to the festival celebrated on the fiftieth day after Passover, also known as the "Feast of Weeks" and the "Feast of 50 days" in rabbinic tradition.
To the Jews, the feast of Pentecost is a celebration of the giving of God’s law. It takes place 50 days after the Passover feast. When God gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai, it was 50 days after they had celebrated their first Passover and come out of slavery in Egypt.
But, what happened after God gave them The Law on the first Pentecost? Three thousand people died… while Moses was receiving The Law on Mount Sinai, the people abandoned their faith and started worshipping a golden calf… this triggered the wrath of God, resulting in 3000 lives being lost. (see Exodus 32:28)! Contrast this with another Pentecost 1200 years later under the New Covenant… when Pentecost had fully come, Jesus equipped His people with miracle-working power to demonstrate the Gospel under a New Covenant… a new law… the law of spirit and of life (the law of liberty). The Holy Spirit was poured out, and what happened? Three thousand people got saved (see Acts 2:41)
The Law under the Old Covenant brings death, but the Spirit brings life and power in the New Covenant.
ON THE 50TH DAY AFTER JESUS’ RESURRECTION AND PASSOVER, THE HOLY SPIRIT ASCENDED FROM HEAVEN AND GAVE CHRISTIANS THE POWER TO DEMONSTRATE THE NEW COVENANT.
Jesus gave His disciples ‘the Word’ for three years. He spent hours each day, sowing the Word of life into their hearts, then after His resurrection, He commissioned the believers who would continue His ministry. On the day of Pentecost, He empowered His Church with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire.
Acts 1:8 (AMPC) says, “But you shall receive POWER (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My WITNESSES in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.”
The Greek word translated as ‘power’ is, ‘dunamis’, literally meaning ‘miracle working power, strength and ability’.
The Greek word translated as ‘witnesses’ is, ‘Mártys (martoos)’, literally meaning ‘a legal witness, a provider of evidence, the ability to demonstrate in order to prove’. In English, the word ‘martyr’ came from the Greek word ‘martoos’ as a result of the many Christians that had been persecuted and had given their lives as witnesses of Christ.
NEW COVENANT POWER REALITIES ON PENTECOST…
#1. HOLY GHOST POWER IS FUELED BY THE WORD!
Jesus gave the disciples the Word for three years before He baptized them with power and fire. Pentecostal power is sustained and fueled by the Word. Without the Word, the anointed power of God will be nothing more than a temporary experience… it is the Word that fuels the fire and sustains the power! Holy Ghost power without the Word is like gasoline and fire without wood… after a huge flash of fire, all that you are left with after a few minutes is smoke… wood keeps the fire burning.
#2. HOLY GHOST POWER EQUIPS YOU TO DO THE WORKS OF JESUS AND TO LIVE LIKE JESUS.
Pentecost power empowers you and equips you to be a ‘PROOF PROVIDER’, providing evidence by way of demonstration in lifestyle and in miracles, signs and wonders. Being a witness is living life like Jesus did as well as demonstrating the power of God through miracles, like Jesus did!
#3. PEOPLE WILL NEVER BELIEVE UNLESS THEY SEE SIGNS AND WONDERS.
In John 4:48, Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.” Miracles, signs and wonders are harvesting tools provided by Jesus to win the lost. Every believer needs to be empowered with Pentecost miracle working power in order to be effective witnesses.
THE DEMONSTRATION OF THE MIRACLE WORKING POWER OF GOD IS THE EVIDENCE THAT JESUS IS STILL ALIVE
WITNESSING WITHOUT DEMONSTRATION OF POWER IS ALMOST TOTALLY USELESS.
Witnessing without a demonstration of miracle-working power is like vacuuming your home without the vacuum being plugged in… we have to be plugged into the power of God to operate as ministers and witnesses… every believer is called to be a minister and a witness and therefore every believer has to walk in Pentecost power! You have to be equipped and learn to operate in power for the last day awakening!
#4. A WORLD-WIDE CRISES IS BEING BIRTHED…
Millions have died from C-19. Tens of millions are suffering form side effects from C-19. Thousands have died from the experimental C-19 vaccines. Thousands are experiencing side effects from the experimental C-19 vaccines. Other C-19 variants are being manufactured and ‘sown’ as virus seeds all over the world.
BETWEEN GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS, EXPERIMENTAL VACCINES, ANTIBIOTIC INFUSED MEATS AND MANY MORE IMMUNE SUPPRESSANTS, MILLIONS WILL NEED MIRACLES AND HEALING.
This world-wide pandemic, along with the experimental vaccines and other contributing factors are set to kill and permanently destroy the health of multiple millions of people. There has never been a more essential time for the true church to rise up and to stand in the gap between the living and the dead!
THIS CRISES COULD BE THE FUEL FOR THE LAST DAY AWAKENING!
Gone are the days when only leaders, evangelists and clergy were the only ones to operate in the power of God. The need is far too great… EVERY believer has to be launched into the harvest field… every believer has to operate in miracles, signs and wonders… every believer has to be fully equipped and trained how to minister healing and how to operate in the anointing.
Every believer… yes, that includes you, has to experience Pentecostal power and start doing the works of Jesus in this crises-stricken world. Stop complaining about what the devil is doing and start providing miracles to the millions in need, in Jesus Name… stop spreading negativity through social media and start providing some good news to a lost and dying world, in Jesus Name! Rise up in Jesus Name… this is our time!

“Jesus never intended His church to be powerless.
I will use my faith to feed on the Word and to be fueled with dunamis power to be a witness for Jesus.
I will continue the works of Jesus, preaching and demonstrating the gospel to all people.
