Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Acts 2:1-4 (NLT)
On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
Today is Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost means fifty. Fifty days after passover, Moses came down the mountain and gave Israel the Law… when he came down, he saw Israel worshipping a golden calf. God poured out His wrath and three thousand people died that day… that was the first Pentecost.
Twelve hundred years later, on the day of Pentecost the Spirit of God was poured out and three thousand sinners got saved. The Law brings death and the Spirit brings life… a New Covenant of power, grace and life was birthed.
Because of what happened at Pentecost, New Covenant believers like you and me, can now receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire.
We have been promised the gift of the Holy Spirit, utterance of tongues, and miracle working power, including the anointing that guides us and teaches us all things.
The Holy Spirit will divinely inspire you, divinely empower you and divinely lead you into the assignments He has for you at the appointed time. The upper room experience was the divine timing for the disciples to experience His outpouring and from that moment on, their lives were forever changed.
When you read your bible, pray, and press into the presence of Lord, exercise your faith, for a fresh touch and a fresh outpouring of power in your life. Believe Him for divine assignments and believe Him for supernatural, miracle-working power. Stand on His promises. Step out in boldness and live your life empowered by the Holy Spirit - Selah
