Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 107:20-21

He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

In Psalm 107, David writes about the Children of Israel who could not receive their promise, who instead of entering their promised land by faith, wandered around in the wilderness for forty years, bound by fear, unbelief, and the mentality of slaves.

After Moses and his generation died, The Lord healed the children of Israel, delivered them from their inner destructions and led them into their promised land.

The children of Israel were bound with a slave mentality, fear, unbelief and inner brokenness because they had fallen prey to hundreds of years of slavery and abuse… even though they were free, they were broken on the inside and therefore could not receive what the Lord had given them.

The way that the Lord healed them is that, He sent His healing Word. He commanded them to speak His Word and to meditate on it day and night, He said, “For then, as you declare my Word and meditate upon it day and night, you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8)

As with Israel, we as believers, we have been delivered from slavery out of the worldly Egypt that we were held captive in. Jesus paid the price, the Holy Spirit has led us out and we are free. Like Israel we have been given an inheritance… we have been given all things pertaining to life and godliness… health, prosperity, supernatural ability, miracle working power, favor, the gifts of the Spirit and more, but, as with Israel, many believers are unable to receive their promised inheritance because they are still broken on the inside.

As with Israel, the Lord has sent His Word to heal us from the inside out… “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

As with Israel, the more that you speak His Word and declare it over your life and into your innermost being, the more that you meditate upon His healing Word, the more that you will be able to receive and occupy what He has given.

His healing Word will heal you from the inside out, it will transform you, renew your mind, renew the spirit of your mind and it will impart everything that you need to walk in faith and to receive what you have been freely given, selah!

In His amazing love, Nick
