Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Corinthians 10:4-6
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Paul the apostle refers to ‘strongholds and arguments that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.’ The place where the enemy launches his attacks against believers is in their thoughts and in their imagination.Strongholds are wrong thoughts and lies that have been perpetuated in a person’s mind over weeks, months, or even years. These entrenched wrong beliefs can cause a believer to live in bondage to addictions and in a state of fear, guilt, anxiety, defeat, or in chronic depression and more.
These arguments and reasonings, or ‘strongholds’ are all anchored in deception… DECEPTION IS THE OPPOSITE TO REVELATION… deception is a lie that masks itself as a revelation of truth… it looks the same on the outside, but instead of leading a person onto the path of life, it leads to a path of death and destruction.
The enemy will do everything in his power to block us from walking in divine revelation, and his number one weapon against revelation is deception that is masked as revelation.
The battle for your mind is not waged externally. Our weapons in this battle are not physical or tangible. There are two lethal weapons that we have that pull down deceptive strongholds and bring us into life-giving revelation… the two weapons given to us by the Lord are ‘the Word of God and the anointing. We bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ… the word ‘Christ’ is not the last name of Jesus, the word ‘Christ’ means ‘the Anointed One (the Word of God) and His anointing’. Strongholds of deception can only be exposed and utterly torn down by rightly believing in the truth of God’s New Covenant Word and the anointing on it.
As believers we need to measure every concept, every way of believing and every theory up against the WORD and the ANOINTING… is it in agreement with the Word of God according to the New Covenant, and is the anointing of Jesus on it? If something is based upon logic, or an argument, or culture, or a dream or a vision someone had, it could be a lie and it could lead to deception… if it is not according to the New Covenant Word and it does not carry the anointing, it may seem good, but it is definitely not God!
Wrong believing, or deception robs, kills steals and destroys, and it places a person on the path of death and defeat, right believing, or divine revelation gives life, brings blessing, makes whole and places a person on the path of LIFE! Bring EVERY thought captive to the light of the New Covenant Word and the anointing… submit every idea to Christ, the Anointed One and His anointing and be blessed, in Jesus Name!
