Today's New Covenant nugget is from Hebrews 1:9 (AMPC)
‘You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore God, [even] Your God, has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions.’
The Greek word translated as ‘Exultant Joy’ is ‘agallíasis’ literally meaning ‘triumphant joy, extravagant joy, bliss, and overflowing gladness.’
The JOY that this scripture is referring to if far more than circumstantial happiness… it is an ANOINTING of triumphant, extravagant JOY, bliss and overflowing gladness, regardless of circumstances. In fact the ANOINTING OF JOY really comes into itself, and manifests more strongly when the pressure is on, and when circumstances are not favorable. Happiness is circumstance related, but the anointing of joy is given as a Holy Ghost gift within the New Covenant and has nothing to do with circumstances and everything to do with the anointed POWER that is imparted, as we place our FAITH in Jesus, His Word, and our New Covenant promises in Him.
The anointing of extravagant joy and bliss in Christ is packed to overflowing with supernatural faith. It recognizes that every trial is a triumph in the making and every obstacle is an opportunity for blessing.
The anointing of exultant, TRIUMPHANT joy releases, and imparts a spirit of triumph and victory into your inner man at times when defeat is the only logical conclusion (in the natural). I am positive that David experienced this anointing as he faced Goliath… instead of fear consuming him, he became consumed with faith, boldness, courage and with the anointing of exultant, triumphant, extravagant JOY. This anointing of joy imparted strength, skill and supernatural ability. David could feel it in his bones as he declared triumph in the face of terror. Goliath experienced the POWER of that anointing and was defeated, just like every spirit of darkness will be defeated by the same anointing in you and I!
