Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Romans 14:17-18 (NKJV)
The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE and JOY in the Holy Spirit.For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
When Paul the apostle narrows down the priorities that a believer needs to focus on in the kingdom of God, he boils it down to three things… righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
We all need revelation knowledge as well as supernatural ability to understand and to walk in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit by grace through faith… for he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men… in other words, the believer who understands and walks in New Covenant righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit will walk in favor towards God and mankind, and thus, will be blessed in all things!
In today’s teaching I will focus on righteousness, then on peace, and next on joy in the Holy Spirit…
New Covenant righteousness is a gift to every believer. It does not cost us anything, and it cannot be earned, but is not free… Jesus gave His life for us to be qualified to receive this gift. When we GAVE our lives to Jesus and received Him as Lord and Savior, Jesus immediately GAVE us the GIFT of righteousness… we were immediately made acceptable and perfect in Him the second that we got born again.
Romans 5:17 SAYS, “If by the one man’s sin, death reigned through the one, much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “God made Christ who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
A revelation of New Covenant righteousness changes every aspect in our lives. When we KNOW that we are PERFECT in the eyes of the Father apart from our works, it takes all pressure to perform away! When we KNOW that because we are fully righteous in Christ, we have been GIVEN everything that belongs to Jesus (we are co-heirs with Christ), lack becomes something of the past. When we KNOW that as the righteous of God in Christ, we can do ALL things through Christ Who strengthens us, all limitations become something of the past!
With the revelation that we HAVE BECOME righteous in Christ, insecurity goes, fear goes, doubt goes, and hopelessness goes… faith arises, hope arises, boldness arises and courage arises! As His righteous ones, we have nothing to prove, nothing to earn and nothing to do to merit favor!
A loving billionaire’s child is wealthy at birth, has security at birth, and lives in a protected, affluent environment, eats the best food, and is surrounded by the best that money can buy from birth, throughout his life… nothing is earned, but all is his, just because he was BORN into privilege. Every born-again believer has been BORN into privilege, because of Jesus, we are children of the Father and are PERFECT in His eyes… all that He has is ours… we were BORN into it when we became BORN-AGAIN in Christ!
A revelation that you are the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in Christ is step one when it comes to living life as God intended in the kingdom of God… there are THREE things, but the revelation of righteousness, and how to live as a righteous child of God, by grace through faith is number one!
