Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Romans 12:10-12 (NKJV)

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; notlagging in diligence, FERVENT IN SPIRIT, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.

We need to walk in love, grace, faith and peace, and not be uptight, or ‘intense natured’, but having said that, we have to be FERVENT in spirit and not let the devil push us around.

The Greek word translated as fervent means to be boiling hot, or to boil over… when it comes to the devil’s agenda, we need to be feisty! I have overcome being an ‘intense’ person who needs to learn to relax; to trust the Lord, to have fun, and to be at peace inwardly, but if the devil shows up at my doorstep… get ready for me to get fired up!

Some people believe that ‘entering into God’s rest’ means to just lay still and let the enemy plunder… that would be a HUGE mistake! You can be at peace, in faith, and be in a place of ‘rest’ and joy, and at the same time, be fervent, boiling hot, and feisty in spirit when under spiritual attack!

Many believers have been destroyed, and even died prematurely because they refused to FIGHT! They believed that faith = passivity. Friend, if you remain passive when under attack, that is not faith! Faith RESTS in God, but it FIGHTS fervently and violently, never allowing the enemy to steal, kill, or to destroy!

If covid, or cancer, or any spirit of infirmity tries to get on you, don’t just lay there and ‘trust God’, get mad, get feisty, get stirred up, and then use the Word… use your authority, use your faith, and FIGHT! Now you do not fight FOR victory, Jesus already did that, and won… you fight FROM a place of victory, enforcing your victory… from victory to victory!

Let me assure you… the stinking devil and his slimy spirits of darkness ARE NOT coming into my house… they are NOT putting any sickness, lack, or depression on me, or on my family, in Jesus Name! I will not be stolen from, hindered, or harassed… I will not be taken out of this world prematurely, and I will not live in defeat… Jesus gave His life for my victory and for me to live as a king and a priest in Him, so I may be ‘chill’, loving and full of grace and peace, but when it comes to the devil, I treat him like the centipede that he is… (I cut centipedes up in pieces, and then flush the pieces)… I run to the battle with passion and fervent faith!

In 2 Kings 7 a true story is told about a time when Israel was in famine… during that season, four lepers, starving and thirsty ended up sitting outside of their city’s gate - they were forbidden to enter by law… “Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “WHY ARE WE SITTING HERE UNTIL WE DIE? If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore, come, let us surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.” And they rose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they had come to the outskirts of the Syrian camp, to their surprise no one was there. For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses—the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!” Therefore they arose and fled at twilight, and left the camp intact—their tents, their horses, and their donkeys—and they fled for their lives. And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went in and ate and drank, and carried away silver and gold and clothing…” (2 Kings 7:3-8)

Sometimes people just ‘sit there until they die’ while a miracle could be in the making, if they would just get up and do something! The lepers ended up going back to their camp, sharing the report that the Syrians had fled, and all of Israel was blessed with food, clothing, the treasures of the Syrian army, as well as their weapons.

Don’t just SIT THERE UNTIL YOU DIE, be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, FERVENT IN SPIRIT, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.

In His amazing love, Nick
