Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Ecclesiastes 5:18-20
Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.
It takes faith to work hard, to step out of the boat and to overcome challenges, but it also takes faith to enjoy life, to have fun and to laugh and play…
It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. God wants to keep us busy with the joy of our hearts. The New Living Translation says, ‘God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.’
The Lord is constantly working on redirecting your focus to things that you enjoy, to things that make you laugh, to things that inspire you and to things and thoughts that are fun filled and exciting. It pleases the Lord when we take the time to enjoy the life that He died to give us… abundant life, overflowing with blessings.
Let me ask you this, “what do you do for fun? Do you have a hobby? Do you love to hike, go to the beach, play board games, ride your bicycle? Do you like to watch movies? Esther and I love the beach, swimming, hiking and we love to go riding on my Honda Goldwing. We make ourselves take time to play. Playing takes faith… life can be so full of responsibilities that our responsibilities can overtake us and consume us if we let them. Take some time to play and to enjoy the blessings that the Lord has given you, take some time by faith to enjoy your family, the friendships you have, and the nature around you… - Selah
