Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Romans 8:14-15 (NLT)
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So, you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children.
As children of God we have to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:15 makes it clear that the Holy Spirit does not lead us through fear, so if you feel pushed in a direction through fear, know that it is NOT the Lord’s leading. Evil spirits of darkness always lead through fear… the devil may use greed, lust or the desire for power and control to draw people, but underneath it all is fear. Fear pressures, fear controls, fear threatens and fear always gives a bleak, disastrous forecast to those who do not comply.
The Holy Spirit leads through revelation, joy, peace and compassion… He will give you a revelation on something, put compassion in your heart, and then impart great joy, peace together with great faith to step out according to His leading. As He leads, He will speak to your spirit man by His Spirit.
If you are in the Spirit, as you seek the Lord… as you place something before the Lord, you will either sense heaviness, stress, pressure, fear, or peace, joy, faith and excitement. The longer that you wait upon the Lord, the clearer things will get, and as you enter into His rest, you will hear His voice clearly in your inner man.
In these times that we are living in, being led by the Spirit is not something reserved for the hyper spiritual giants, it is for every child of God – to many, if not to all, it is a matter of life and death. You can and should be led by the Spirit in EVERYTHING. If you do not know how to be led by the Spirit, ask the Holy Spirit to teach you, study being led by the Spirit in your bible and listen to anointed teachings out of the Word on being led by the Spirit. It is not hard… in fact, it is very easy… something that you were made to do! Be Spirit led in all things, and as you do, you will live in the land of blessings regardless of circumstances!
Blessings on you, Nick
