Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Timothy 1:6 (AMPC)
That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].
Many believers have become numb as a result of continually being under attack… the church internationally has suffered a huge blow with C-19 restrictions together with other disruptive uprisings… many believers are afraid, confused, shaken in their faith and now, numbness has set in. I do not know about your part of the world, but here in Hawaii, the vast majority of churches are not having ‘in person’ services and are only meeting online.
The church has been recognized as ‘essential’ and is allowed to meet, but most have decided not to meet… at first I thought that it was nothing more than passivity, but the Lord told me that it was more a case of numbness mixed with fear than passivity alone. We need to stir up the inner fire within us and shake off all fear and numbness, in Jesus Name!
This is not only about churches meeting, but, when believers no longer meet to worship, to pray, to participate in the move of the Spirit, to have hands laid upon them, and to sit under the anointed Word, it is like when a ship loses its engine and its rudder… it begins to float aimlessly without power only to crash on some rocky shore on a desert island.
Pray for your pastors and spiritual leaders and lovingly encourage them to take their place, to gather their people together regularly and to lead them boldly. We cannot bow to fear… if we go into hiding, the world will plummet into darkness under the spell of wickedness.
Do not give in to fear or numbness, shake it off and stir up the inner fire of the Holy Ghost. The devil wants us to go away so he can achieve his antichrist agenda, but we will not go away! We will rise up strong in the power of the Holy Ghost and run with the fire of God!
Stir yourself up, rekindle the embers… fan the flame, the inner fire and burn with passion for Jesus! Pray in the Holy Ghost, let Jesus baptize you anew with the Holy Ghost and fire until you are inwardly ablaze with His Glory! This is our time to reign in this life through grace in Christ as kings and priests in Him… to be His hand extended and His voice of hope, power and healing to a lost and dying world!
