Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
We have to RECEIVE before we can give! You cannot give what you do not have! The question is, how do we receive from the Lord? The short answer is, ‘we receive by faith with our words’.
Romans 10:8-10 says, “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we declare): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Our confession receives what we believe… with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! The word salvation is the Greek word ‘sozo’ (provision, deliverance, healing, protection and preservation) – so, in other words we could translate it this way, “your words of faith receive everything that you need from the Lord”.
“Father, I receive everything that I need from You right now, I receive, so that I can give, I receive Your power, Your anointing, Your gifts, Your love, Your grace, I receive all that You have for me by faith right now… I believe in my heart and I confess with my mouth, and as I do, my confession and the declaration of my mouth receives Your sozo – I declare that I now possess everything that I need for life and for godliness, I am blessed to be a blessing, amen!”
