Pride is self-focus and self-dependence, faith is God-dependence – faith requires humility! People whose souls are not right look to themselves and to others, but a person with a prosperous soul looks to the Lord!
Broken, hurting people tend to be filled with pride, while ‘whole people’ are humble people of faith and God-dependence. If you have difficulty trusting the Lord and stepping out in faith, you need your soul to be healed and made whole… you need your heart to be made whole by the Lord and by His Word. As you receive healing and wholeness, self-focus and self-dependence will go and faith will rise up!
