Jesus has sympathy and compassion towards us as we struggle to overcome weakness and sin. He does not condone sin… He died to destroy sin and to destroy it’s effects over our lives, however, Jesus does not condemn us, He has provided grace and mercy to help us overcome!
Grace is getting what you do not deserve, mercy is not getting what you do deserve – instead of receiving condemnation, or trying to overcome in your own strength, the Holy Spirit tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Mercy gives an escape from the consequences of your action and grace gives unmerited favor and supernatural ability to overcome – that is why the bible says that when sin abounds, grace does much more abound. ‘Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14’ – Grace destroys sin’s dominion over you!
We are all being transformed into the image of Jesus by His grace. Do not let your shortcomings, mistakes, weaknesses or sin be a hindrance – come boldly to the throne of grace, and obtain mercy and find grace to help in your time of need.
