Today’s New Covenant nugget is from John 15:12-15 (TPT)

“So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you. For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends. You show that you are my intimate friends when you obey all that I command you. I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father.”

Jesus calls us His friends. When we take heed to His Word, when we apply and heed to His words in our everyday life, we show Jesus that we are His intimate friends. His Word is alive and powerful and something supernatural happens on the inside of your spirit man when you begin to let His living Word be in you and live through you – speaking His Word, doing His Word, yielding to His Word.

Today, as you step out, put on the mind of Christ, lay hold of His Word and walk knowing you have a friend of Jesus. He has promised to never leave you, He has promised to never forsake you… as that old hymn says: ‘Friendship with Jesus, fellowship Divine, oh, what blessed, sweet communion, Jesus is a Friend of mine’.

One of my first songs that I ever learnt to play on the piano as a child was the sweet hymn, “What a friend we have in Jesus…”. I have so often, gone and sat at the piano and fellowshipped with Jesus, just playing that song. Truly we have the greatest friend, this world could ever offer, His name is Jesus.

Remember today, Jesus is your friend, He calls you His most intimate friend. He is with you today in every decision you make. Lean on Him, wait on Him, talk to Him, walk with Him – He loves you - He died to bring you into relationship with Him. Through His death, you were reconciled back to God (brought back into relationship with your maker). What an amazing friendship… Jesus paid the price for your friendship with Him, all you have to do is open your heart to receive Him and His love for you, and walk in His Word… that is all you have to do to be called a friend of the most High God -Selah.

Blessings on you, Esther
