Because of our New Covenant relationship in Christ, because of the promise of the Holy Spirit’s life-giving power operating in and through us, giving life, making us able ministers of His New Covenant according to 2 Corinthians 3:6, we can see the fruit in our life that His work within produces.
I love this word ‘produced’… ‘the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you’ - the dictionary describes the word ‘produced’ as, ‘to bring into existence, to cause or to bring forth’. The Work of the Holy Spirit within us, brings into existence, causes, brings forth fruit in and through our lives that has His divine qualities. It’s a divine love - divine because it comes from God Himself, pouring out His grace on our lives - it’s not of our own doing but it’s His divine nature living on the inside of us, bringing His divine attributes into existence through us.
I love how the passion translation, describes the fruit of the Holy Spirit as a divine love with varied expressions. This is so powerful. You cannot have joy, peace, patience, kindness, virtue, faith, gentleness or strength, unless it is birthed out of His DIVINE Love.
In the most trying season of life, we see the church of Jesus rise up in a love that represents His divine nature within - in the midst of everything crazy going on around us in the natural, we have overflowing joy, we have patience to walk this through, we have a calming peace, we are patiently enduring, we are being kind one to another, full of virtue, we have prevailing faith in our Father and His promises, our hearts are gentle and tender towards Him and each other with an unbreakable, undefeatable, unyielding strength that He has graced us with - Selah
