Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Peter 1:1
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
The greater the revelation of our righteousness in Christ, the more that we will be able to receive and walk in the same kind of like precious faith that Peter the apostle walked in.
By faith, Peter had more than 3000 receive Christ after his first message… by faith, Peter said to the lame man, “silver and gold I do not have, but in the Name of Jesus, rise up and walk”, and the lame man was instantly healed. By faith, Peter continued to preach with boldness, even after it was forbidden by law, by faith, Peter healed Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed… and by faith, Peter raised Tabatha from the dead. Many, many more supernatural things were done by Peter through faith in Jesus.
Do you have a desire to walk in the same like precious faith that Peter walked in? Peter said in 2 Peter 1:1 that this kind of faith is obtained and received by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ – in other words, a revelation of our righteousness in Christ leads to great faith!
Every believer is righteous in Christ, but every believer does not know it, or have a revelation of it, so because of being blind to their righteousness in Christ, their faith is limited – they have been given the same measure of faith, but they do not step out and use it to do mighty exploits.
A revelation of righteousness brings with it an assurance that you are qualified in Christ to be used in a great way! Your works do not qualify you or make you righteous, Jesus qualifies you and makes you righteous as a free gift! Believers who continually attempt to qualify to be used mightily by their works continually fall short… instead of being righteous-conscious, they are continually sin-conscious and failure-conscious – failure-consciousness and sin-consciousness diminishes faith to be used of God… righteous-consciousness increases faith to be used by the Lord.
Right after Peter said that the same precious faith that he walked in could be obtained through righteousness, or a revelation of righteousness, he continued, “grace and peace be multiplied to you!” The more righteous-conscious that we become, the more we walk in great faith, and the more grace and peace gets multiplied in our lives.
When you walk in righteousness, great faith and multiplied grace and peace, you will walk in the same miracle working power that Peter walked in… your shadow will heal people, the lame shall walk, the blind shall see and the dead shall be raised through your hands.
