On God’s calendar (Jewish Calendar), April marks the month of redemption. What an amazing opportunity to stand together in faith, the month of April, the month of Redemption. It’s a month that signifies when Jesus gave us the gift of grace, by sacrificing His life on the cross, so that all that would confess Him as Lord and Savior would be saved! (Romans 10:9, 10)
Redemption (Greek: apolutrosis) refers to the deliverance from sin and its consequences. The death of Jesus paid the price of a ransom, releasing born again from bondage to sin and death and every work of the devil. Through redemption we are set free from our transgressions and are born again as sons and daughters of God, seated in Christ at the right hand of the Father as kings and priests in Christ, with power to rule and reign in grace. Redemption not only sets us free, it places us in a place of authority as the body of Christ. Through redemption we have been freely given all things pertaining to life and godliness!
This is a most holy season that we are living in right now, approaching the celebration of Palm Sunday and Passover. This is a season of divine appointment with God, a season where you and I are seeking the Lord more than ever before, worshipping Him like never before and turning our face towards Him like never before – watching the times and the season, because we know the day of His coming is approaching.
This is a season that marks remembering what Jesus did on the Cross, turning our eyes to Him Who became our Passover Lamb and paid the price for the freedoms we have now… Jesus gave his life as a gift of grace into our lives for our salvation.
During this month, no matter what trial you are facing, lift your eyes towards the Lord and thank Him for your redemption. You are the redeemed of the Lord, you are bought with a price. Thank Him for his provision during this crazy season, for His deliverance from every situation you find yourself in, His healing, and His protection from this disease lurking on our doorsteps – it’s all ours in Christ. Covid-19, has no place in our lives, because we are the redeemed of the Lord – Amen.
