Today’s New Covenant nugget is from John 11:40-44 (TPT)
Jesus looked at her and said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you will believe in Me, you will see God unveil His power?” So they rolled away the heavy stone. Jesus gazed into heaven and said, “Father, thank You that You have heard My prayer, for You listen to every word I speak. Now, so that these who stand here with Me will believe that You have sent Me to the earth as Your messenger, I will use the power You have given me.” Then with a loud voice Jesus shouted with authority: “Lazarus! Come out of the tomb!” Then in front of everyone, Lazarus, who had died four days earlier, slowly hobbled out—he still had grave clothes tightly wrapped around his hands and feet and covering his face! Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him loose.”
In verse forty, Jesus said to his dearest friends Mary and Martha, “If you would believe, you would see the Glory of God” (KJV)… but before they could see the miracle working power of Jesus, there were 4 things that we see take place…
1. The stone to the tomb had to be rolled away.
2. Jesus prayed the prayer of Faith
3. Jesus spoke with authority and called Lazarus forth
4. We see the miracle of Lazarus being raised from the dead and the Glory of God manifest through that miracle.
As I was meditating on this, the Lord showed me that as we look to Jesus in faith… we will see the glory of God manifest in our midst… we will see God unveil His power, as the passion translation puts it, and we will have our miracle, but sometimes, before we see the miracle manifest, we have to roll away the stone first.
What is the stone blocking standing in the way of your prayer and your miracle?
When I was meditating on this, I felt that a stone could represent a hard heart or a blockage. Is there a stone in your life that is blocking your miracle? Does the stone represent offenses, unforgiveness, resistance to what God is saying, or is it a pain, hurt, fear, doubt, or disappointments that are hindering your faith or blocking your miracle?
If there are anyone of these in your life today, let me encourage you to ‘roll the stone away’ by grace through faith… get rid of the thing that is blocking your miracle!
After your stone has been rolled away, you will be able to step into the place Jesus has called you to step into… then when you pray the prayer of faith with the authority that Jesus Christ has given you, you will call forth the things in your life that you are believing for by faith… you will see your Lazarus, (your miracle) come forth in Jesus Name! You will see the manifest Glory of God!
