Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
There are many teachings on what, or where the secret place referred to in Psalm 91 is… as we study Psalm 91, the inevitable conclusion is that Psalm 91 is a prophetic psalm, given by the Lord for such a time as this. The Holy Spirit makes it clear in Psalm 91 that the secret place is a person; Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
AS WE STUDY PSALM 91…
*WE WILL SEE THAT PSALM 91 IS A PROPHETIC PSALM FOR THE LAST DAYS
*WE WILL SEE THAT PSALM 91 DEALS WITH VIRUSES SUCH AS THE CORONAVIRUS, BIO WEAPONS, TERRORISM AND EVEN NUCLEAR WEAPONS.
*WE WILL SEE THAT THE LORD PROVIDES A SECRET PLACE OF REFUGE AND SAFETY
WHERE IS THE SECRET PLACE?
The secret place is not a hidden place in the realm of the spirit that can only be accessed through deep intersession, through days of fasting, or through pressing into a deep place in God. In Fact the place that David talked about was a secret at that time, but it is no longer a secret, it has been clearly revealed… the secret place is a person, and that person is Jesus! Let’s look at some scriptures in Psalm 91…
Psalm 91:2 - I will say of ‘THE LORD’, “HE (the Lord Jesus) IS MY REFUGE and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”
Psalm 91:4 - HE (Jesus) shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; HIS TRUTH (HIS WORD) shall be your shield and buckler.
Psalm 91:9-10 - Because YOU HAVE MADE THE LORD, WHO IS MY REFUGE, EVEN THE MOST HIGH YOUR DWELLING PLACE, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
Psalm 91:16 - With long life I will satisfy him, and show him MY salvation.”
THE SECRET PLACE IS A PERSON AND THE PERSON IS JESUS!
Only in the New Covenant can man live inside of the Lord… in Christ. Only Jesus brings salvation. The secret place is not some spiritual hidden place that only a very few, very spiritually perceptive believers can find, the secret place is a person, and that person is Jesus! I will say of the Lord (Jesus), “He (Jesus) is my refuge and my fortress… He is my secret place.
THE PROMISE OF PSALM 91 IS TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST… THOSE ‘WHO SAY’, “JESUS YOU ARE MY GOD, MY FORTRESS, MY REFUGE, I PUT MY TRUST IN YOU.” PSALM 91 IS A PROPHETIC PSALM, FOR SUCH A TIME IS THIS!
LETS LOOK AT THE PROPHETIC REVELATION OF PSALM 91 TOGETHER…
Because we have established that ‘Jesus’ is the secret place, I am going to replace all words such as ‘Him’, ‘the Lord’ and ‘His’ to Jesus to emphasize the truth of Jesus as our secret place…
PSALM 91:3-16
3 Surely Jesus shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler (the devil) and from the perilous pestilence. (including C-19, and all of it’s variants)
The Hebrew word translated as pestilence is ‘Deber’, it literally means, ‘destroying pestilence’ or ‘murrain’, (a plague – infectious virus or disease – epidemic causing great destruction)
4 Jesus shall cover you with His feathers, and under Jesus’ wings you shall take refuge; His truth (HIS WORD) shall be your shield and buckler.
His Word is our shield… it is absolute truth! In these last days we have to be full of the Word, stand on the Word and live the the Word… the Word of God is what is going to get us through!
5-6 (As a believer in Christ), you shall not be afraid of the terror by night, (Terrorism) nor of the arrow (nuclear missiles) that flies by day, nor of the pestilence (viruses such as C-19, chemical, or biological weapons) that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
(The Hebrew for ‘that lays waste’ is ‘shûwd’ - it literally means, ‘total ruin and devastation… it could be referring to nuclear weapons)
In verse 5-6 we see terrorism prophesied, missiles… possibly nuclear – we see pestilence, viruses, or biological weapons that will spread disease, viruses, and man made viruses such as the coronavirus and even much worse, and we see weapons that cause total destruction that lays everything waste… possibly nuclear weapons.
The good news is that in Christ, we shall not be afraid, in Christ and in faith we will stand unharmed. Thank you Jesus – do not fear!
7-10 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. (You will witness it, but it will not touch you) Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
We will see devastation all around us, thousands will fall, but it shall not come near us! Jesus is our ark… in Him we will rise above the waters and remain totally safe! As a church we have remained totally protected and plan to remain safe and secure, no matter what!
11-12 For Jesus shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. (Supernatural angelic protection)
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14-16 (Jesus says about us as His children) “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name (The Name of Jesus). He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”
WE ARE SUPERNATURALLY PROTECTED IN CHRIST AS WE USE OUR FAITH
WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AUTHORITY AS PROTECTORS FOR OTHERS
As scary, and dark as things are getting in this world, I believe that a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit will manifest around the world and the greatest awakening of the church ever, will come to pass - those of us who rise up in the power given to us in Christ will crush the works of darkness, we will plunder hell and we will populate heaven! To the Supernatural church, this will be our finest hour! Rise Up!
The more people that we can reach with the gospel, the more that will join us in the secret place of safety… Let’s get busy! The coronavirus will come and it will go, but more things are on the way, this is only the beginning… the darker that things get, the brighter that our lights will shine!
The secret place is not a secret anymore… let’s spread the word!
